It was a great vacation but I sure am glad to be back in the barn!
George did a great job fixing the floor! No more hill! We are going to have to go a little easy on it until the concrete reaches its full strength, so for a few weeks no dropping anything heavy in that area please!

Despite it raining "cats and dogs" the first 4 days, we have had a great week in Cape Cod and my body it fully rested. Watch out barbells! I'm coming to get ya on Monday! Hope you've all had a good week playing with Laura. Meri can't wait to see all of you and thanks for taking care of Timmy for me!
I joke around and call them ugly face pictures, but I love pictures that capture a facial expression of true effort. These are expressions that cannot be posed and in my opinion are the most flattering and beautiful pictures of anyone.
I will be here all of this coming week, but the following week I will be out of town, hopefully reading some books and getting some beach time!
The gym schedule will be as follows August 23-28:
Monday- Friday Laura Cook will have a class at *7:00 AM and will have the gym open from 4:15-6:15.
Saturday August 28, if all goes as planned George will be repairing the gym floor. Weather permitting, Laura will be running outdoor workouts from 9-11 AM. If the weather doesn't cooperate...take a very well deserved rest day!
*Please let Laura know if you will be attending the 7:00AM class. She will not be here unless she knows people are going to be here. Call me if you need her number!
If there is a "secret" to success, this is it. Whether it is exercise, diet, learning a language, being successful at work, training your dog, whatever.....
Consistency. And it's close relative, Persistency. If you are consistent and persistant you will be successful at whatever endeavor you persue. I have seen it over and over again here in the gym. Those who are consistent in attendance and effort, and those who are persistant are the ones who achieve great things.
Sandy and George are 2 of the members here who are consistant and persistant. Both of them achieved a handstand in the last couple of months. Paul is consistant and persistant and is now regularly getting one of the best times and is lifting serious weight. Ariel...need I say more?
There is nothing special about any particular workout. The secret to success is just the plain old mundane showing up every day and doing the best you can.
He's got a pretty sweet set up there. Coop and Numbers were there as well. Several interested passers-by stopped in while I was there, and it made me think that maybe we should have another "friends and family" day, where you could bring in some people who wonder what you have been doing in this mysterious barn and show them your stuff!
I will be on vacation August 22-28. The gym will be open limited hours and Laura Cook will be running the classes. She is able to be here for the afternoon hours and an early morning class if there is enough interest.
I will be closing up the gym at 9:45 AM on Saturday so that those of us who wish to can go down to the Dansville Fitness Club grand opening. Wear your workout clothes because JP tells me there might be an opportunity to work out while you're there! The event will go all day but I need to go down in the morning. Anyone who wants to carpool, I'll be leaving here at 9:45!

No diet here....just some common sense. In order to live to your full potential and support your exercise you need to eat food that is GOOD FOR YOU. We all know what that is. Stay away from sugar. Eat lean meats and LOTS of vegetables. Whole grains. Good fats. Eat every few hours, small portions.
