Kudos to those who did Murph this afternoon. Freedom is not free.

Ok, I might be guilty of gratuitous shirtless pictures of ripped guys.

On a more serious note...
I'm not a "ra-ra" crossfitter, and we didn't have a big event promoting our gym, but I admire the tribute to Lt. Murphy, who is just one example of how our freedom is not free, and on Memorial Day we need to remember that. Almost (June 6) 70 years ago, on a beach in Normandy, many very young American men gave their lives so that we have the freedom to bitch about inane stuff. Please thank a Veteran and take a moment to appreciate those who never made it home.

Busted out the prowler for this evening's fun and entertainment!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend! The weather is supposed to be great! I will not be here Monday morning, but the gym will be open regular hours in the afternoon. Jon and Tim are going to do Murph. Scaled versions will be available. And please remember to thank a veteran, and pause to give a thought to those who died for our freedom!

It is so nice to play outside!

We had a great little developmental Highlander event this past Sunday! Karen and Stephanie put on a pretty amazing performance! Matt Hand of http://www.strongandfar.com/ was here as well as some other seasoned Highland Games and Highlander athletes. Sara Fleming and Dave Vanskike of http://www.practicalstrengthfortrainers.com/ organized and ran the meet. We had so much fun, we want to do some more! Chuck Livingston and Mike Landrich of the Buffalo Heavies were also integral to a successful weekend and are willing to help me organize another meet. A Highlander is a mix of Highland Games events and Strongman events. If you are reasonably strong and want to have some fun, come on out! We will be having another backyard meet end of July or early August, perhaps followed by a Crossfit Century. We have a few who want to tackle that task! Details to follow!
